AND NOTICE OF HEARING
On March 14, 2025, Nevada Power Company d/b/a NV Energy ("NPC") and Sierra Pacific Power Company d/b/a NV Energy ("SPPC" collectively, "NV Energy") filed with the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada ("Commission") a joint application, designated as Docket No. 25-02032 ("Joint Application"), for approval of the cost recovery of the regulatory assets relating to the development and implementation of its 2024 joint Natural Disaster Protection Plan ("NDPP").
NV Energy filed the Joint Application pursuant to the Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) and the Nevada Administrative Code ("NAC") Chapters 703 and 704, including, but not limited to NRS 704.7983, and the regulations approved by the Commission in Docket No. 19-06009 and filed with the Secretary of State by the Legislative Counsel Bureau ("LCB") on February 27, 2020, in LCB File No. R085-19 and November 15, 2024, in LCB File No. R181-24, specifically Section 12. Pursuant to NRS 703.196 and NAC 703.5274(2), NV Energy requests confidential treatment of information submitted under seal with the Joint Application.
In its Joint Application, NV Energy is seeking Commission approval of the cost recovery for the implementation of the NDPP for 2024. NV Energy states that it created regulatory asset accounts as applicable for the 2024 NDPP expenditures. For the 2024 NDPP cost recovery, the collective balance NV Energy is seeking recovery of is $55,060,160.27, which includes the amounts in the regulatory asset and return on capital investments applicable carrying charges.
In this Docket, NV Energy is proposing to establish the following NDPP charge for all of NV Energy's customers:

For the consumer session, members of the public and interested persons may appear in person and be heard regarding the above-captioned matter and the effect this matter may have on their utility service. A representative from the Regulatory Operations Staff of the Commission, the Nevada Bureau of Consumer Protection, and NV Energy will be present at the consumer session to answer questions. Public comments may be limited to five (5) minutes per person. The Commission will endeavor to make reasonable accommodations for members of the public who are disabled and wish to attend the consumer session.
